I understand that Lorie Merryman (the artist) may accept or decline the subject matter.
 

I understand that balance of payment will be due upon my (the purchaser’s) approval of color copy “proof” and that once the artist receives my payment, my original painting will be forwarded to me immediately.
 

Upon completion, if you are not completely satisfied with the portrait, you will be under no obligation to pay the balance of the money owed or to accept the painting. However, the deposit and the artwork will be mine to keep if you choose not to accept the portrait.
 

The amount of time necessary to complete the portrait will depend on the medium and the current workload of the artist. The artist and the purchaser will agree on the following completion date. Note: The artist must receive all supporting materials (photos) for Christmas orders by November 1.
 

The artist reserves all rights of reproduction (including reproduction, dissemination of copies, display of copies and adaptation of work) and all copyrights for all work including commissioned works. Purchase of artwork does not grant an implied license; any licensing agreement will be covered in a separate written agreement signed by the artist. The purchaser gives the artist permission to use the purchaser’s name in conjunction with image for exhibit or marketing purposes.
